Coast Capital responds to B.C. flooding crisis with $10,000 to Red Cross relief efforts
Surrey, B.C., As warm weather and rapid snow melt continue to threaten communities across the province with record high water levels, Coast Capital Savings, Canada’s largest credit union by membership, has committed $10,000 to the Canadian Red Cross.
More than 3,000 British Columbians have been displaced by historic flooding in May. The Canadian Red Cross launched the B.C. Floods Appeal to help meet the immediate needs of those impacted by flooding, which could include water, food, and shelter, as well as longer-term needs as people begin to return home and enter the long process of recovery.
“Our hearts are with everyone being impacted by these devastating floods,” said Kimberley Nemrava, Canadian Red Cross vice president of B.C. & Yukon. “We know how strong and resilient the people of British Columbia are and the Canadian Red Cross is here to support communities now and in the weeks to come.
